October has Halloween and December has Christmas, but what about that lull between the greeting card holidays? When your spirits begin to sink along with the thermometer mercury, you can look forward to November 28 – Local Comic Shop Day!
LCSD is devoted to celebrating the role local comic shops play in their unique corners of the world-wide comics community, their contribution to the love and appreciation of comics, and their dedicated community members.
To show our appreciation for that dedication, we Local Comic Shops, with the support of comics providers like Oni Press, Marvel, BOOM! Studios, IDW, Valiant, Archie Comics, and Dark Horse plan on making November 28 your Christmas in November by providing a selection of Exclusive Comics!

And to make LCSD at Happy Harbor a true celebration of our community, we’re asking all of our patrons interested in purchasing exclusive LCSD items to help support one of our city’s most important educational organizations: the Edmonton Public Schools Foundation. In order to participate in the LCSD event and purchase the related comics, each customer will be asked to first make a minimum $20 donation to the EPSF.
Here are the details:
– Exclusive LCSD items will ONLY be available for one day, in store, and will not be available for preorder or reservations or online. They will go on sale at 10AM November 28.
– Purchases will be limited to 3 items per customer.
– Only one copy of any particular LCSD book may be purchased per customer.
– Each customer must make a minimum $20 donation in support of the EPSF in order to purchase LCSD items.
