Open Minds Walk & Run

Come out and support the Schizophrenia Society of Alberta’s OPEN MINDS WALK AND RUN September 19, 2015 in Rundle Park. Open Minds Walk & Run is an annual 2.5km fun walk, 5km and 10km run in support of families  living with mental illness.  Enjoy a continental breakfast, lunch, entertainment and silent auction while raising awareness for mental health!  You could win a $1000 travel voucher by raising pledges so hurry and register at www.schizophrenia.ab.ca

Raise $6000 or more and receive a $1000 travel voucher.  Click here, for a complete listing of prizes that can be earned from raising pledges.  All funds raised will support the valuable work of the Schizophrenia Society of Alberta, providing support and services for individuals and families living with schizophrenia and related disorders.  All funds raised in your community go towards helping your local SSA branch!

Come early and enjoy a free continental breakfast! During the walk and run enjoy the medal ceremony, silent auction, 50/50 draw or raffle, and lunch!  Bring your family and friends to cheer you on!

Participate in SHARE THE LOVE station to decorate your event t-shirt in honour of a loved one or all those affected by schizophrenia.  If you have something special you wish to add to your shirt bring it on event day!

What is Schizophrenia?
1 in every 100 Canadians are affected by schizophrenia.  Schizophrenia is a physical disorder that affects the brain, and consequently can have major impacts on an individual’s thought processes, cognitive abilities, and behaviors.
