Professional artists Keri and Min team up to present an exciting evening exhibit of their fine art paintings November 28 at the Royal Alberta Museum. Featuring works ranging from abstraction to hyperrealism, the exhibit will showcase a variety of style, medium and expression. While Keri is an established painter with works in international collections, Min is a new and emerging artist. Both are bonded by a shared creative passion for producing fine art. The exhibit also includes three new still-life canvases by Erik Floren, who has worked in Edmonton for more than 20 years as a journalist, photographer and artist. With live music, a cash bar; this free admission event is open to the public.
Thursday, November 28, 2013 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The museum is located at 12845 102 Ave.
Artists:
Keri McTaggart
Ever since she can recall, Keri has looked at the world with the eyes of an artist. For her, it is simply a way of life. Inspiration is drawn from daily visual interactions, events and inner emotions which are then – in raw form – applied to canvas. Her technique and signature style is portrayed through masterful colour combination, fluid flow acrylic, or watercolour. Keri’s art is internationally renown, featured in collections in Australia, Philippines, Germany, USA, as well as in Canada. Keri’s timeless paintings will capture your imagination.
Min McGuire
Min is an emerging artist with a passion for pastels and acrylic paintings, in all genres of expression. Her paintings vary from hyperrealism to abstraction. What is unique about this artist is that all the pastel paintings are done with her left hand, while the acrylics are rendered with her right hand. Min also has a passion for experimentation so, at the moment, the surfaces of her paintings range from paper to canvas, with the textures varied by differing applications of medium gels. The excitement in watching this young artist’s journey is that you never know what to expect – or what will unfold
Erik Floren
Erik has worked in Edmonton for more than 20 years as a journalist, photographer and artist. As an artist, he paints in either oil or acrylic on linen canvas. He has been painting intermittently for forty years, and has produced works of figurative, landscape, still-life and portrait. Light and colour play important roles in his paintings.
